Bravera Health Seven Rivers Receives Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation (January 2019)
The American College of Cardiology has recognized Bravera Health Seven Rivers for its demonstrated knowledge and commitment in treating patients with chest pain. Bravera Health Seven Rivers was awarded Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI accreditation based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack. The recognition signifies a new era in heart care for the Crystal River community.
Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI accreditation encompasses many facets of the hospital’s heart care program: direct patient care, clinical education and strategic planning for future program development. As an accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI, Bravera Health Seven Rivers regularly undergoes onsite review of its operations and patient care processes by a panel of ACC experts.
2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures®
Named by The Joint Commission as a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures®. The hospital is one of only 1,043 hospitals in the United States to achieve this distinction based on excellence in accountability measure performance. Bravera Health Seven Rivers was recognized for its achievement on the following 2014 accountability measure set(s): heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care and immunizations.
To be named a Top Performer, a hospital must achieve cumulative performance of 95 percent or above across all reported accountability measures; achieve performance of 95 percent or above on each and every reported accountability measure with at least 30 denominator cases; and have at least one core measure set that had a composite rate of 95 percent or above, and within that measure set, achieve a performance rate of 95 percent or above on all applicable individual accountability measures.
Recognized with a 2014 Get With The Guidelines®–Heart Failure Gold-Plus Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology Foundation secondary prevention guidelines for heart failure patients.
Bravera Health earned the award by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure patients at a set level for a designated period. These measures include proper use of medications and aggressive risk-reduction therapies such as cholesterol-lowering drugs, beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, aspirin, diuretics and anticoagulants while patients are in the hospital. Before patients are discharged, they also receive education on managing their heart failure and overall health, as well as referrals for cardiac rehabilitation.
Bravera Health Seven Rivers also received the association's Target: Heart Failure Honor Roll. Target: Heart Failure is an initiative that provides hospitals with educational tools, prevention programs and treatment guidelines developed to reduce the risk of heart failure patients ending up back in the hospital. Hospitals are required to meet criteria that improves medication adherence, provides early follow-up care and coordination and enhances patient education. The goal is to reduce hospital re-admissions and help patients improve their quality of life in managing this chronic condition.
Recognized by the American Heart Association with a 2013 Get With The Guidelines®–Heart Failure Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award. Get With The Guidelines–Heart Failure helps Seven Rivers Regional develop and implement acute and secondary prevention guideline processes to improve patient care and outcomes. The program provides hospitals with a web-based patient management tool, best practice discharge protocols and standing orders, along with a robust registry and real-time benchmarking capabilities to track performance. The quick and efficient use of guideline procedures can improve the quality of care for heart failure patients, save lives and ultimately, reduce health care costs by lowering the recurrence of heart attacks.

Recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association with a 2011 Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award. To receive the Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award, Seven Rivers Regional achieved at least 12 consecutive months of 85 percent or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Quality Achievement indicators and achieved at least 75 percent or higher compliance with six of 10 Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Quality Measures during that same period of time, which are reporting initiatives to measure quality of care. These measures include aggressive use of medications, such as tPA, antithrombotics, anticoagulation therapy, DVT prophylaxis, cholesterol reducing drugs and smoking cessation, all aimed at reducing death and disability and improving the lives of stroke patients.

Recipient of the Jean Byers Award for Excellence in Cancer Registration. The award acknowledges the hospital’s timeliness and completeness in reporting cancer case admissions to Florida Cancer Data System (FCDS).

The certification award recognizes Bravera Health Seven Rivers’ dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the- art standards. The hospital underwent a rigorous on-site review where a Joint Commission expert evaluated us for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients and families, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.
