Critical Care Medicine
The medical professionals at Bravera Health provide 24-hour monitoring and acute care for critically ill patients in our intensive care unit (ICU). Patients have access to specialists in a range of disciplines who utilize advanced equipment and technology to provide quality care.
We understand that having a family member or loved one in the ICU can be difficult - that’s why our critical care team members are dedicated to keeping you informed and answering your questions. Please contact the ICU nurses with regards to visiting times. The ICU staff may limit the length of visitation based on the patient’s condition and the need for rest. The ICU staff will develop a visiting schedule with you if the need arises.
Our intensive care units are designed for patient care during the most critical phase of a patients illness.
The units are staffed by nurses who are specially trained and experienced in the care required by the ICU patient. Nurses are advanced cardiac life support certified and critical care experienced. The staff is available to assist patients and their families at any time.
In order not to distract from patient care, we limit the number of phone calls. Please designate one member of your family as a contact with the hospital.
Because of the serious nature of the illnesses of our patients in ICU, we like to provide clergy support. Either an ICU staff member (at the family's request) or a family designee should notify patient clergy, unless the patient declines.
No flowers, candy, fruit or gifts are permitted in the ICU. Patients may have special dietary or fluid intake restrictions. Flowers and balloons are also prohibited. There are no telephones in patient ICU rooms.
